Searching on KnowledgeToWork.com is easy.
Did you know that you can save your searches to run them again later?
We have included this powerful tool for our registered users.
Let’s pretend you are interested in a cyber security degree to get one of a number of high demand cyber security jobs. You just want to see what is available so you search for learning resources about cyber security.
This search returns hundreds of search results. To narrow down the results to the type of learning resources you are most interested in using, use the Advanced Search Filters. In this example, let’s say you are only interested in learning resources that are free videos. Under the ‘Cost’ filter you select ‘Free’ and under the ‘Media Type’ filter you select ‘Video.’ Now that you have applied those filters, you can browse the narrowed down search results for learning resources that will interest you.
If you’d like to save this search so you can return to these search results later without needing to reapply the Advanced Search Filters, we have included a feature to save search results for our registered users. After you have applied any search filters to your search, simply click the yellow drop down ‘Save Search & Filter.’ You can then type in a name to call this search, such as ‘Free Cyber Security Videos.’ You also have the option to save your search into a specific folder to keep your saved searches organized. Then click the blue ‘Apply Advanced Filters’ button to save your search.
Now your search will appear on your ‘Searches’ tab when you are logged in to your account. You can also add comments to your saved searches. Comments are only visible to you and might include notes about the search or reminders for yourself.
Since we are adding new learning resources all the time, you can simply go and rerun the saved search any time to see what new learning materials may have been added since the last time you logged on.
