National security threats are discussed in the news daily and those individuals fighting alongside our military at times are cyber security professionals dedicated to protecting our digital infrastructure. The cyber security industry is growing at a rapid rate and filling jobs with qualified workers can be a challenge for employers.

Are you interested in cyber security? If you have the will and capacity to learn to help secure our digital infrastructure against cyber threats you could earn a salary of $90,000 or more annually.

Where do you start your IT security training?

We have over 300 ways to get started immediately learning cyber security on KnowledgeToWork.com for free. Get to know the cyber security industry and what it will take to excel in a career, prepare for your IT certification or IT security training, and find out about cyber security courses on KnowledgeToWork.com.

Prepare for your cyber security certification

Let’s start by signing up on KnowledgeToWork.com and selecting the CSC in Cyber Security credential. The website will automatically load the competencies (skills) associated with this cyber security credential to your Learning Plan. Each competency is aligned to an IT national competency framework that identifies the skills required to obtain that certification.

We make it easy to learn by aligning learning resources to each competency. To learn a competency, simply click a competency within your Learning Plan and it will launch a new search displaying the learning resources we’ve identified to help you learn that competency.

In your Learning Plan, set due dates for each competency and once you feel you have mastered that competency, click Achieved and move on. KnowledgeToWork.com allows you to learn at your own pace, obtain as much knowledge on your own as possible, and self-assess your competency attainment prior to certification.

Ready to get your Career Studies Certificate (CSC) in Cyber Security?

It’s required in most cases for employment in this field and particularly for the salary figure mentioned earlier. There are a number of places to obtain your certification. We will mention Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) since it was officially designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the United States National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). LFCC offers a full Career Studies Certificate (CSC) in Cyber Security as well as an Associate of Science degree in Information Systems Technology with a Cybersecurity CSC as the focus.
