On June 21 and 22, 2017, the Saylor Academy hosted the 2017 Saylor Higher Education Summit in Washington, DC. Knowledge to Work was able to send two of our team, Eric Simons, our PHP Programmer, and Jeremiah Shifflett, our Database Administrator, to the summit.

Simons and Shifflett had a great experience at the summit and have been reporting their reflections on the event. Simons recently wrote about his reflections on the summit for the Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources (CCCOER). Read his blog post on Shifflett served as a member of a panel discussion on alternative credentials at the event and recently shared his experiences via blog post to Knowledge to Work. Read his blog post on

The Saylor Academy has also published video recordings of the event on their YouTube channel, including a recording of the panel Shifflett served on, which was titled “Alternative Credentials vs. Degrees: Entrée, Complement, or Replacement?”
