In previous posts, we’ve talked about how to sign up for your free service organization account on KnoweldgeToWork.com and how to add and manage the services your organization provides to your service organization profile. In this post, we’ll cover the final piece of setting up your profile, which includes adding and managing awards. Read on to learn more.

Why You Should Add Awards to Your Service Organization Profile

The goal of your service organization profile on Knowledge to Work is to help learners locate your organization through the Services Search tool and learn how your organization can help them achieve their educational and career goals. Awards are one method learners use to locate organizations using the Services Search, so adding awards to your service organization profile is crucial to your organization showing up in users’ search results. This helps you attract new students to your educational institution or organization.

Awards can include degrees, academic certificates, certificates of completion, continuing education units (CEUs), digital badges, and professional certifications and licenses.

Adding Awards

To add an award to your service organization profile, click “Awards” in your user dashboard while logged in to your account. From the dropdown menu at the top of the screen, select the type of award you would like to add, then click “Add.”

If you are adding an academic certificate, certification of completion, digital badge, or a degree, you will be shown another dropdown menu. This time you will select the level of the award if relevant (for example, if you select “Degree” as the award type, you will then be given the options “Associate degree,” “Bachelor’s degree,” etc.). You will then be shown another dropdown menu where you can select the industry area for the award you provide. Here you can select the industry the award relates to. You can then select a specific subject area for the award from the next dropdown box. If the award relates to multiple subject areas and you will not be adding an award type for each, you can select “Multiple Fields of Study.” Finally, select the locations of your organization where this award is offered and click “Save.”

If you are adding continuing education units (CEUs) or a professional certification/license, you will be given options to select the name of the relevant certification or license. You can either search for the name or choose from a list. Once you have selected the name of the certification or license, you will be shown additional information related to it, which may include the name of the certifying organization, a description of the license or certification, and a link to the certifying organization. Verify that you have made the correct selection using this information. If you do not see the certification or license you need to select, simply contact us and we may be able to add it for you. Finally, select the locations of your organization where this award is offered and click “Save.”

Managing Awards

If you have already added awards to your service organization profile and need to make changes to them, see the following sections.

Editing the Locations of an Award

To change the locations that an award is offered at, start by clicking “Awards” in your dashboard menu. You can view a list of all the awards you have added to your profile on this screen. If you do not see the award you need to edit in this list, select the relevant type of award from the dropdown menu at the top of this page. Below the name of each award, you will see a list of the locations you have indicated this award is available at. To change this list of locations, click “Edit Locations” above this location list. You can now select or deselect locations as appropriate for this award. Finalize your changes by clicking “Save Changes.”

Deleting an Award

To delete an award from your service organization profile, start by clicking “Awards” in your dashboard menu. You can view a list of all the awards you have added to your profile on this screen. If you do not see the award you need to delete listed, select the relevant type of award from the dropdown menu at the top of this page. To delete an award, click the red “Delete” button to the right of that award.
